UCSC wins 2nd, 3rd and 4th places at the annual Information Security Quiz organized by the Sri Lanka CERT|CC
The Information Security Quiz is an event organized by the Sri Lanka CERT|CC where enterprising students of universities and tertiary education institutes in Sri Lanka participate. This is organized in line with the Annual National Information Security Conference, held for the 7th consecutive year on the 10th of September 2014.
The was held for the 4th consecutive year on the 10th of September 2014 at the BMICH with the participation of 21 teams. The team “OpenIDs” consisting of the students Ayantha Randika and Anuruddha Hewawasam successfully received the 2nd place after a tiebreaker for first place. The team “Lightsabers” from UCSC won the 3rd place while the team “Code Map” from UCSC won 4th place.
The quiz consisted of 8 rounds and focused around basic security concepts, cloud security and privacy, physical and environmental Security, software development and security, cryptography, laws and standards related to computer security, general network security technologies, security tools and cryptography.
