iHack 2015 by UCSC ISG

Organized by the The University of Colombo School of Computing – ISACA Student Group, in partnership with Millennium Information Technologies, iHack 2015 is a 24 hour software development competition, intended to provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate and improve their software development and problem solving skills.

The event is scheduled to be held for a period of 24 hours from 7.00 a.m. on the 05th of September 2015 and 7.00 a.m. on the 06th September at the new UCSC Premises. The teams comprising of undergraduates of the University of Colombo who have the passion in software development will be participating in this competition in which they are expected to provide a web based solution to a given problem. The evaluation panel will consist of professionals of respected companies in the IT industry and senior lecturers of the UCSC. All participants will be provided with breakfast, lunch, evening tea, dinner and other refreshments throughout the duration of the competition.

UCSC – ISACA Student Group is the first and only ISACA Student Group (UCSC ISG) under the ISACA Sri Lanka Chapter. The purpose of the group is; to expand recognition of the IT Audit and Assurance, Security and IT Governance disciplines, through student empowerment; by extending education beyond the classroom on standards, practices and certification.

The event is expected to be an initiative and in a sense; a pilot project for many other purposeful events that are expected to be hosted by the UCSC ISACA Student Group (UCSC ISG).
